Production Engineer; Native America Calling/National Native News
Join a hardworking and enterprising team of professionals dedicated to the mission to bring the Native American perspective to a national radio audience. Koahnic Broadcasting Corp. is looking for an experienced, knowledgeable and energetic audio engineer to help produce the nation’s largest Native American live radio talk show, Native America Calling, from 11 a.m. to noon Mountain Time every weekday. The engineer prepares and files audio for National Native News, the nation’s only daily radio newscast devoted to Native American issues. The engineer also maintains the web stream for the national radio distribution network, Native Voice One (NV1).
The ideal candidate must be familiar with audio editing software such as Adobe Audition, have experience with audio recording equipment, and be able to learn other software and electronic equipment as needed. This position benefits from attention to detail, expert technical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. We are looking for someone with an on-going interest in learning about Native American issues.
Some of the duties of this position include: managing technical details of a live, national call-in radio program; working on deadline to coordinate production and distribution of a national newscast; works with NV1 on web stream production and station support; inventory and maintenance of studio equipment and key studio software; producing engineering occasional remote broadcasts; communicating effectively with staff, outside technicians, contractors, and show sources to ensure on-going seamless operation.
This is an hourly, part-time position with an average of 25-30 hours per week.
